Wow.... its crazy! just as the week starts its already the weekend and then monday all over again! i know i think its somekind of rocket science... but shhhh.
the slave labor... i mean internship... has been going well! last week 1/2 the design department was in Europe... lucky! but it was kinda slow in the office cause of it... but it wasn't too bad... did some organizing color bins for the most part of the week, cause yes there were that many swatches and bins it pretty much took FOREVER! I had to return a $1200 Stella McCartney dress on monday.... it kinda made me sad... i would have happily just takent it off their hands instead... but i don't think they would have liked that too much! I got to make some more beads... used a saw and all! made some copies and ran some errands... im tellin ya... it was a slow week =/ i even organized the embroidery desk where the old intern sat... cleaned it off, seperated some beads and folded the scraps in a box. I also played with some of the fabric and made a flower =) quite fun!
Sat was the first girls night out with ALL of the Roomies @ apt 1b!!!! it was quite fun! the best part id have to say is when we got up to the line and there was actually alot of people there. we were debating on having to wait and slowly people were leaving the line... so we figured we would wait just for a lil bit... well after one group left in front of us we were kinda at the side of the line where the rope was... well we stood there no more than 5 mins and we got in... it was GREAT... especially when on mad line waiter walked by and was like 'don't bother waiting... youll prob be there all night..' ha... actually we didn't... we were that group of girls who gets up to the line and we got let in in front of those people who were standing there far before us! haha! yay!
Thankfully everyone but 2 designers are back... and its been back to normal for the most part! copies, errands as usual! today me and the other intern got to help out production and dye some things... yay... i have come not to like that job much... unless it is an easy color... which thankfully mine was... poor court tho was def in that little room from before break till about 5... no fun! but hey it wasn't me... sooooo.... yeah! got to print out pics from style too... its funny how used to doing things you get and then you see that you aren't the only one who does it!
This weekend is Halloween and Im quite excited... there is a big parade in the lower west Village... and its kinda a big deal =P sooooo thats my plan for now! arrrrrg.... i think im gonna be one of gaspars pirates! bring the tampa tradition to the big city!
all righty.... till next time....
peace out cub scout!

Week 2...
So its been a pretty good week!!! Started off on monday getting called into work... cause most everyone had off columbus day, but they needed help and I didn't mind... plus I didn't have to go in till 1 so all was good. Got to finish up from what i was doing over the weekend dyeing. woo hoo... ; ) then did misc. things to help them send out the samples... which was supposed to be there night... but didn't actually happen... (haha and they said no one misses a deadline in school). Tuesday was.... take a guess.... MORE dyeing.. but this time by the end of the day I was so sick of it i didnt want to look at dye again... plus I was there after lunch for like 3 hours trying to get the dye back to what i used for the sample that had to be approved, but i accidently put too much purple dye so i had to go out and get more blue dye and start the process all over again. and by the time i was finishing up Rebecca walked by and all the sudded my supervisor came in and asked to see my first sample... turns out that it wasn't the same and the one i had was too darkj... ugh! so basically i tried to lighten it but it wasn't working and by this all happening it was time to leave. now normally i woulndn't mind staying and trying to finish or fix it... but of course the one day that i had plans to go out with the gang from school, this HAD to happen. eventually left and met up with Mei Ling and hopped on the train to meet up with everyone downtown. we ended up going to this place called solas, and they had some good happy hour prices and it was going on for another 1 and half soe we stayed for a few drinks and had to go eat something... me whit jes and mei ling all went to a lil pizza shop and sat for i think atleast an hour or more just talking and catching up. but i feel so old when it was starting to get late... and im only talking 930 10ish late and i was doing nothing but yawning... boo! so i had to break up the party cause i still had to be at work @ 9... along with my 45 min train ride and getting ready i wanted to get to sleep... Wed, i had to undo some sweater seams... thankfully i was occupied when Kale the textile designer asked me if i was busy... obviously holding the sweaters and trying to get the seam didn't seem as if i was busy... But she asked laura who gave me the job if it was important and she did say yes... so i didn't have to help her correct the too dark fabric... but it does kinda suck they just basically threw away what i did the night before... but i sure didn't want to do it all over again so i was ok for being busy!!! later i did a few errands, made some copies and helped with embroidery(mostly a typical day). I got to actually sew on the embroidery for the going away present KAte was giving the intern who was leaving... it was actually fun... i seem to be getting more and more interested in embroidery. there is just soooo much you can do with some beads! and let me tell ya.... they got LOTS of beads!!! Thursday.... ahhh thursday.... i don't think i did much of anything BUT make copies... seriously!!! I had to make 3 copies of stacks and stacks of paper for them and then put together "the packet" that needed to be sent to Rebecca by the end of the night... seriously.... it was ALL day in front of that damn printer... grrr... Today was ok... had to run an errand and ended up walking down the wrong street looking for a shop and realized after walking back and forth a few times... and then the store was almost the size of a hallway and lots of lots of people... it was a bit annoying but cool cause it was tons of metal... and i had to get this saw thing for making some beads... made a few copies, filed some research for fall and spring shows, then helped with a design for a sweater kinda... just really drew on the patch lines and she approved or disapproved and i fixed them... but we will see if rebecca likes it =)
for now we are trying to figure what to get into tonight... some bar down the street... a band show or who knows....
for now still loving the city and the fun non-paying job....

first week down and im pooped!
So week one is over... and Im happy to say Im loving it still!!!
Day three continued much like day one and two... Sequins... errands and more sequins... then day 4 was day 3 all over agian... and i actually stayed late to help out because the embroidery designer needed more sequins and she was leaving for the weekend for a wedding and all this stuff is due monday night... so why not help! and after thursday night me and the other intern, her boyfriend and her friend from the 'webby'-which is the short for webster, basically an all girls dorm pretty much- went to coldstone cause I finally found out where it was thanks to them and was craving it ALL day...
after that i get in a cab yet again not knowing where he was going... and neither did I... so that was fun =/ damn cabbies should know where the hell they are going in this city but apparently they only know THE city... not the buroughs where most the population actually lives.... grrr...
anywho... day 5 was pretty much the same in the morning... sequins... those damn little fuckers... seriously! and a little after mid-day we were all freaking out cause all the embroidery that was not getting done in time and all that had to be done... so after a VERY long meeting with the design group and Rebecca.... she decided to cut the embroidery and add lace where it was going... in short cutting ALL the sequins I was working on for the past flippen 5 days.... GRRRRR... but apparently that happens alot as told from the other intern who also was working on something and they ran up telling her to stop... which she had pretty much almost finished, and did i mention it was crochet... yeah if you dont know how long that actually takes... its extremely time consuming... especially when it is tiny little straps for a top... so apparently this is something i will be having to get used to... Great!! Today they needed help to finish up some things so after being told i would actually be getting paid i was all in after i heard the word... of course i would have done it for free... but hey when they offer an intern money im def not going to turn it down! so today i got to dye things... lots of things... which was actually fun... maybe not so much for some but it was far from making friggin sequins so im not going to lie i enjoyed it!!!
all in all everything is still going great... but it still is just week one... ten more to go... if not longer... but still loving it!!!!!
now a day off and im on call monday so we shall see if i get two or have to go in... but hey still getting paid so im not going to mind!

Day 1 and 2
So yesterday was the big day! Got there @ 9 am sharp... first task was organize a dest that had tons of shit on it... and they loved it... but by the end of the day there was a box of shoes one it... not just one box of shoes like what they come in... like one big box with many shoes in it... grrr... but hey it wasn't too bad... because they made it seem as if that was my desk... and having a desk as an intern i think would be pretty big! I also got to wrap beads in fabric, get trims & buttons from the spring collections from the production floor, grab some swatches to match some fabrics and make sequins... yes yes MAKE sequins... i took bigger sequins... about an inch to an ihcn and a half sequin, color them, scratch them up and then cut smaller ones out from that one.. and there were 4 different sizes... from about a 1/4 in to about 1/8 in circle =/... but for the most part it was pretty cool... i work for about 9 different ladies who get to boss me around... lol... but they all seem pretty cool, and the fun part is that most of them have english acccents... love it!
Today... did some more of the same... lol... def sat there making more sequins... and wrapped more beads... which sounds like no fun... but is rather interesting seeing the different ways to come up with unique embelishments! did my first 3 errands... picked up some beading samples and aplique fusing... then my favorite was a cupcake run =) it was amazing... right after lunch one of the ladies suggested that she wanted a cupcake and one by one so did everyone around... then i voulenteered myself to go pick them up... heck yeah i wanted one too!!! and the best part of it was the name of the store where i got them... are you ready for this... because its ingenious: Burgers & Cupcakes... really you ask?!?! REALLY!!! now like one of my b-fries said... 'only if they had beer would that be like the ultimate heaven!' -but seriously!!!! did meet some of the other interns today... but luckily for me... one only works 2 days a week and one leaves in a week... why do you ask is that lucky for me... well as much as im a fan of working for free(note sarcasim)... the more i am there the more i can help and show how i can bust my ass and the more they will fall in love with me and want to hire me on the spot after graduation.... well atleast that is how it goes in my pretty litte dreams! but hey... you never know right!!!
all in all so far so good... now just gotta get used to this cold thing.... brrrr 43 degrees this am was noooooo fun... but hey... like one of my favorites say.... 'im in hawaii, sure it looks alot like north caroline, but really its hawaii'(gotta love Mr. Tosh!!!)
till another day....peace out cub scout!

Venturing around...
So today was my first day alone walking around in the city. Found my way on the subway from home to the L to the A and to Rebecca Taylor! Thank goodness there was a starbucks right when you got off the subway and a D&D right after that for those early mornings! After that I just roamed... as well as walked into stores and bought some warmth for the much needed cold weather! I must say I might have done my shoping for the month in one trip... but hey I DEF needed atleast one warm jacket and coming from FL I didnt have a one, and a few other things to help. Ate lunch in Bryant Park and it wasn't too cold of a day and it was BEAUTIFUL! Oh how I'm not regreting this move! Only a few more days of this no working thing though, so tomorrow is another touristy day with Angelica and sunday who knows... but not looking forward to the possibility of a haunted house... seriously haven't been in one on my own free will since I think about sophmore year!!! We shall see!!! Tonight Whit has a friend who's throwing a b-day party that we are going to go mingle at so that should be fun as my first NY outing =)
Definately getting excited for monday tho! Start at 9 am sharp! Woo hoo!!!
